Students from Rosie’s Garage, a free after-school tutoring service, will be the first to ride Disneyland’s newest attraction, Autopia, today.
More than 60 children ages 6 to 10, along with 20 parent chaperons, were to be bused from two La Habra garages and a tutoring site in both Brea and Santa Ana.
“This is really the red-carpet treatment for these kids,” said Rose Espinoza, who started the tutoring program from her own garage nine years ago. She said only children committed to the program were selected for the trip.
“These are kids who stopped by every day after school to work on homework and solve their problems,” Espinoza said.
In addition to being the first to ride Autopia, the children also will enjoy reserved parade seating and a fireworks show tonight.
