Dozens of people spoke against the planned 356-acre Whispering Hills development at Tuesday’s Planning Commission meeting, urging the commission to reject the proposal.
“We don’t want this to go to another meeting,” said Cathleen Brannon, a member of the group Citizens Against Uncontrolled San Juan Expansion, before the meeting. “We’re trying to get them to decide on it now.”
However, the matter was on the agenda as a discussion item rather than an action item. The commission will not make a recommendation to the City Council until the consultants have had time to respond to public comments on the draft environmental impact report, said Planning Director Tom Tomlinson.
