Prop. 25

Share

Prop. 25 is not about campaign finance reform, it’s about providing advantages to wealthy candidates such as Prop. 25’s sponsor, millionaire and two-time candidate Ron Unz. And, to make matters worse, Prop. 25 would cost Californians $55 million every year to help pay for political ads. I don’t want my tax dollars going to pay for more political ads. Let’s do the right thing and go back to the drawing board. Vote no on Prop. 25.

Any initiative that calls itself campaign finance reform but doesn’t address soft money is not true campaign finance reform. The huge amount of soft money spent in California to influence elections is the core problem. Most would agree we need to take steps to limit the abuses, but Prop. 25 would not accomplish that.
