Poor School
Re “Donor Answers Poor School’s Prayers,” March 7: The irony of it all! The Roman Catholic Church and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles can spend millions of dollars on a new cathedral to glorify God and the church itself but can’t seem to find the money to fund its system of elementary schools. The article on the role of LAPD’s Southeast Division in securing funding for San Miguel Elementary School so that the school might have more adequate classroom space is another example of the shameful priorities of this archdiocese. The cardinal has tremendous political clout. Would that he also had the poor of his flock as his most important concern.
