Senior Legislature Seats Available
Applications will soon be available to Ventura County seniors interested in serving the 2000-2002 term of the California Senior Legislature.
Potential candidates must be at least 60 years old and registered voters. Nomination petitions can be picked up starting March 20 at the Area Agency on Aging office at 77 N. California St., Ventura.
Candidates must complete the petition and gather at least 50 signatures from registered voters 60 or older. The filing deadline is April 14, and the election will be May 10.
The Senior Legislature meets during an annual session in Sacramento in October, developing legislation proposals on issues concerning seniors. The proposals are then presented to the Legislature.
