Farnham Bids Fond Farewell

Share

The four-year love affair between Sean Farnham and the home fans comes to an end today as the popular senior forward plays his last game at Pauley Pavilion.

“It’s going to be very emotional,” he said.

How could it not?

Farnham, sometimes a starter at power forward, sometimes a reserve out of the rotation, has made his mark with fist pumping, shouting and dirty-work hustle, in the process earning a superstar’s adulation, from the student section in particular. And now, it ends, with three grandparents coming to see him play as a Bruin for the first time, 11 other friends and relatives expected to attend and a career of memories rushing at him.

“It is a lot of emotions,” UCLA’s only senior said. “I didn’t think I would be that emotional this week. But I came out here Thursday and looked around, and a lot of things hit me. The realization that I just have one more game at Pauley. I’m definitely going to have my work cut out for me Saturday not to completely lose my composure.”

UCLA is 13-1 when Farnham starts, including the current five-game winning streak.
