Golf Tournament to Benefit Caregivers

* The eighth annual “Wearin’ o’ Green” golf tournament will be held St. Patrick’s Day on Friday at the Buenaventura Golf Course, 5882 Olivas Park Drive, Ventura. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. Entry fee is $95, which includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, prizes and an Irish buffet lunch at the Wedgewood Banquet Center. Auction to Help Raise Scholarship Funds

* Phi Epsilon Phi Society hosts “An Angel’s Touch,” a champagne brunch and live and silent auction, at 10:30 a.m. March 18 at the American Legion Hall, 83 S. Palm St., Ventura. Women’s Club to Present Fashion Show

* Westlake Women’s Club holds its annual fund-raising fashion show, luncheon and boutique starting at 10:30 a.m. March 21 at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza Hotel, 800 S. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village. Festivities start at noon with a fashion show featuring Holly Mitchell’s musical fashion extravaganza. Tickets cost $50. Proceeds will benefit the club’s scholarship program and local charities. ‘Millennium Saga’ to Raise Funds for Club

* The Thousand Oaks Women’s Club presents an annual fund-raising event, “The Millennium Saga: A Trek Through Fashion,” at 10 a.m. March 22 at the Thousand Oaks Inn, 75 W. Thousand Oaks Blvd. A luncheon will follow the fashion show, along with raffle ticket sales. Tickets cost $35. Rail Festival to Benefit Restoration Efforts

* The fifth annual Fillmore Spring Rail Festival will take place March 25 and 26 from 9 to 5 p.m. at Central Park, Central and Santa Clara avenues. The festival features rides, locomotive excursions, a model train swap meet, antique displays, vintage tractors and engine demonstrations. There will be a band, arts and crafts booths, and barbecue tri-tip sandwiches. The Santa Clara River Valley Railroad Historical Society’s visitor center will be open with displays and artifacts. Easter Seals to Hold Fund-Raising Campaign

* Tri-Counties Easter Seals holds its annual fund-raising campaign this month to benefit existing programs and provide new ones. Easter Seals’ mission is to help children and adults with disabilities throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. The organization’s goal is to raise $38,000, most of which will go to its children’s, medical rehabilitation and support service programs. Annual Native American Scholarship Event

* The fourth annual scholarship benefit “Honoring Our Youth Powwow and Native American Gathering” will be held April 1 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the North Oxnard United Methodist Church, 1801 Joliet Place. There will be traditional arts and crafts, storytelling, Native American dancing and drumming, and an all-day barbecue. Proceeds will benefit graduating high school seniors in the Ventura County Indian Education Consortium, which has more than 1,200 youths from kindergarten through 12th grade. Information: 983-2572.

Casino Night to Help Pay for iMac Computers

* Our Lady of the Assumption School’s annual Shake, Rattle & Roll casino night and silent auction will be held April 1 from 6 to 11 p.m. at Assumption Hall, 3169 Telegraph Road, Ventura. Golf Event to Raise Money for Sarah’s House

* Sarah’s House Maternity Home will host a golf tournament April 3 beginning at 1 p.m. at the Sunset Hills Country Club, 4155 Erbes Road, Thousand Oaks. Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. and an awards banquet will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The event features a hole-in-one prize and longest-drive contest. Project Promotes Recycling of Mowers

* The Ventura County Air Pollution Control District is hosting Project Clean Cut, which will provide $100 discount vouchers to the first 425 residents of the county to turn in their gas-powered mowers. Additional $50 vouchers will also be given out. Drop-off locations include the Simi Valley Recycling Center, Standard Industries of Ventura and Camarillo Recycling. Independent Living Program Seeks Mentors

* Interface Children Family Services needs adult mentors who enjoy working with adolescents and have a desire to make a difference through its independent living program. The program helps foster children and independent young people ages 19-21 make the transition to adulthood. The program provides volunteers with training, support groups and mileage reimbursement. Volunteers Sought as Peer Counselors

* Jewish Family Service is recruiting volunteers for its senior peer counseling program in the Ventura, Oxnard and Ojai areas. The nondenominational program is for Ventura County residents age 55 and older. Volunteers will be trained to listen to and support others coping with loneliness, depression and isolation.
