Arts Students to Vie for Capitol Exhibit

High school students throughout the San Fernando Valley will compete for the chance to display their artwork in the state Capitol.

Entries for the Fine Arts Festival 2000, sponsored by Assemblyman Bob Hertzberg’s San Fernando Valley High School Advisory Commission, are being accepted in the following categories: black and white media, color media and three-dimensional media.

Two-dimensional artwork must be no larger than 24 inches square, and three-dimensional artwork is limited to 24- by 24- by 24 inches.

From each category local high school teachers will choose winners, who will be flown to Sacramento to see their artwork on display.

The public can view the entries at the Northridge farmers market April 5 and at the Studio City farmers market April 9.

Entries must be dropped off by March 30 at Hertzberg’s district office, 6150 Van Nuys Blvd., Suite 305, Van Nuys.
