* DuPont Co. said it bought Santa Barbara-based start-up Uniax Corp., which develops plastic displays used in wireless electronics, as part of a plan to expand its fast-growing electronics materials unit. Financial terms weren’t disclosed. Closely held Uniax has the rights to polymer-based light-emitting diodes used on display areas of hand-held devices such as cell phones.
* Pacific Palisades-based California Beach Restaurants Inc., the owner of Gladstone’s 4 Fish in Malibu, reported a fiscal third-quarter net loss of $539,000, or 16 cents per share, compared with a loss of $569,000, or 17 cents, a year ago due to remodeling costs. Revenue rose 3.5% to $3.6 million.
