The Gary Center, a nonprofit organization that offers health services to residents, was selected as the site for the 15th annual Orange County Corporate Volunteer Project. It will undergo renovations performed by volunteers from more than 20 corporations across the county.
City officials said the center was the only nonprofit group in the county to be selected for the project, which will focus on the rehabilitation of playground equipment and landscaping, as well as repairs to sidewalks and the interior and exterior renovation of four buildings.
Over the last six months, city officials have worked with project officials to determine where repairs are most needed at the center. The work will be performed by 300 volunteers at an estimated cost of about $250,000, city officials said.
