* Update--The last time the Galaxy played at RFK, Salvadoran midfielder Mauricio Cienfuegos scored on a controversial free kick with six seconds left, giving Los Angeles a 2-1 victory. Cienfuegos is said to be close to attaining his resident alien status, which would free a place for the team to sign another foreigner. The pursuit of a Mexican forward continues, with Ivan Gazidis, the league’s vice president of player relations and operations, calling it a “vitally important” priority. Galaxy midfielder Roy Myers will sit out the game because of a deep thigh bruise. Also sidelined for Los Angeles is defender Jorge Salcedo (left knee surgery). Midfielder Peter Vagenas (groin strain) and forward Sasha Victorine (right hamstring strain) are described as probable. For D.C. United, midfielder Micah Cooks (facial fracture) is out, and playmaker Marco Etcheverry (left calf strain) is listed as questionable. Defenders Eddie Pope (left knee sprain) and Carey Talley (right foot bruise) are probable starters.
