“MAK Architecture Tour 200,” an all-day, self-guided tour of Los Angeles’ influential Modernist residential spaces, will focus on the sleek, efficient homes designed by R.M. Schindler, Gregory Ain, Richard Neutra, Raphael Soriano and John Lautner. Sponsored by the MAK Center for Art and Architecture, Sunday’s tour will feature open houses at the Kings Road House/Studio, Buck House, DeKeyser House, Fitzpatrick House, Dunsmuir Flats, Bonnet House, Mackey Apartments, Kallis House, Shulman House and Studio, Bergren Residence and Hailey House. In addition, the MAK Center will host lectures throughout the day by architects Judith Sheine, Barbara Lamprecht, and Frank Escher, and photographer Julius Shulman.

all day: Art

Multimedia projects that question the influence of television and the effects of environmental and biological pollution, and examine multiple personalities of fictitious characters will be included in “Introjection: Tony Oursler Mid-Career Survey, 1976-1999,” a national traveling show and the first comprehensive overview of the artist’s work. Opening Sunday at the Museum of Contemporary Art, the survey will include about 25 works, from Oursler’s early single-channel videos to his later mixed-media installations and digital media works that invite visitors’ participation.

Singing an English-language program for his debut recital in Founders Hall at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, German countertenor Andreas Scholl will be assisted by lutenist Edin Karamazov. Their program: music by Dowland and Campion, and folk songs of the British Isles.

The Open Gate Theatre’s monthly series of improvisational and experimental music lands in Eagle Rock with a double bill featuring the trio of former Mothers of Invention keyboardist Don Preston, guitarist Nels Cline and brother-drummer Alex Cline, three of the most active musicians on the new music circuit. Solo marimba excursions from percussionist David Johnson (X-tet, Los Angeles Philharmonic) are also on tap. Bring an open mind.

Sons of Thunder, the six-voice male contingent of the much-admired medieval-music ensemble Sequentia, brings the visionary chants of Hildegard of Bingen as well as pilgrims’ songs and the timeless Song of Sybil to an architectural memento of 1969, St. Basil’s Church in Mid-Wilshire, part of the Chamber Music in Historic Sites series.
