Ex-Black Panther Due to Be Extradited
Officials in Montgomery, Ala., agreed to extradite Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin to Georgia in the slaying of a deputy in Atlanta. Al-Amin, a 1960s black militant known as H. Rap Brown, would be returned to Georgia under the extradition paperwork signed by aides to Gov. Donald Siegelman. Al-Amin’s attorneys have said they will oppose extradition and questioned the validity of the papers. FBI agents found a car that they believe Al-Amin drove in a field in the White Hall community where the former black panther was arrested last week, FBI spokeswoman Celestine Armstead said in Atlanta. Armstead said the car has been transported to Montgomery and would be processed by the FBI’s evidence response team.
