Slain Santa Ana Woman Identified
A 44-year-old woman who was killed, allegedly by her estranged husband, was identified as Maria Teresa Rodriguez, Santa Ana police said Sunday.
Rodriguez’s husband had driven to her residence in the 1200 block of Linda Way about 8:30 p.m. Saturday with the intent of kidnapping her, Sgt. Raul Luna said.
“He got her to the car, but she refused to get inside,” Luna said. “He shot her in the head and when he left in his car, he ran over her.”
The 43-year-old husband then drove about 12 blocks to the 2400 block of West LaVerne Avenue, where he parked at the curb and fatally shot himself while in the vehicle, police said.
The man’s identity was not released pending notification of relatives.
