O.C. Dance Company to Perform at Festival

The Arpana Dance Company of Irvine and 13-year-old Sharanya Mukhopadhyay of Yorba Linda will dance at the seventh annual Nations of San Diego international dance festival Thursday through Sunday at the Lyceum in Horton Plaza.

Arpana, a company devoted to Bharata Natyam, the classical style of southern India, will dance Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2 and 7 p.m.

Sharanya will dance in the Odissi classical style of eastern India on Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m. Last year, Sharanya was the youngest dancer to be auditioned and to appear in the Los Angeles Dance Kaleidoscope series.

Nations of San Diego is the largest ethnic dance festival in Southern California. It is co-sponsored by San Diego Rep and San Diego Dance Alliance. Tickets: $14-$20. Information: (619) 544-1000.
