The Planning Commission voted unanimously Monday to accept a deal with Cox Communications allowing the cable company to move operations from a hub site on Preciados to Rancho Santa Margarita over the next two years.
The commission will hold a public hearing on the issue on June 26 and asked for staff to come up with a set of conditions and terms, agreed upon by neighbors and Cox, for the two-year evacuation of the site. The commission also will modify Cox’s use permit for the site, which is in a residential neighborhood off of La Paz Road.
