Emergent Information Technologies Inc. said Monday that it has received two contracts in Rome, N.Y., that are expected to generate more than $4.5 million in revenue this year.

The Newport Beach information technology company, formerly called SM&A; Corp., said in a news release that the larger contract, for $2.4 million, is aimed at improving the ability of the nation’s defense radars to find and track targets.

Emergent also will enhance modeling and simulation tools used to support the Air Force Rome Laboratory radar program.
