* Re “Community Colleges May Shelve Reading Skill Standard,” May 1.
I was very amused to read that [Oxnard College matriculation counselor] David Lopez found it “hard to find commonality” among Chicanos, Cubans, Puerto Ricans and native Mexicans.
All his students are presumably in the United States of their own choice, so how about American English?
