Officials at the Orange County High School of the Arts have developed a new creative writing department when the school opens at its Santa Ana campus in September. The program, designed by writers and teachers James Blaylock and Tim Powers, will admit 40 students on the basis of an audition portfolio with writing samples. The program will contain courses on writing for stage, film, television and comic books, as well as instruction in poetry and other mediums. Information: (562) 596-1435.
