The City Council will consider making changes tonight to a recently enacted parking policy to reflect how parking enforcement officers have been enforcing it.
The policy, enacted in January, established guidelines for ticketing parked cars that block sidewalks and stick out into the street.
However, officers have interpreted the policy in different ways because of the definition of a sidewalk and how far a car can extend into the street.
Under the proposed amendments, cars would be ticketed if they block any sidewalk that runs the entire length of a block. Definitions for the exact distance a car may stick out into the street are also clarified.
The council will meet at 7 p.m. in the chambers, 100 Avenida Presidio.
