YORBA LINDA
Council members voted 3 to 0 this week to go outside the city for ideas on how to spruce up Yorba Linda’s Old Towne area--a project they hope to get underway soon.
The City Council on Tuesday hired Downtown/Main Street Visions, an El Segundo-based firm, to develop a plan to revitalize the stores and coffee shops that line the block of Main Street northeast of Imperial Highway near Yorba Linda Boulevard.
Council members agreed with some merchants’ concern that the city is focusing too much on studies and not enough on building.
“At some point we need to take a shovel and dig up the dirt, or paint some walls,” Councilman Mark Schwing said. “But we also need a solid concept.”
