Walker Is a Convincing Winner
Ben Walker of North Hills led wire to wire and was never seriously challenged in winning the 75-lap Food 4 Less Super Late Model race before 5,440 at Irwindale Speedway on Saturday night.
There were five cautions in the race and on each restart, Walker pulled away from the second-place driver. The biggest problem for Walker came on Lap 39. As he drove down the front stretch, Dennis Logue spun in Turn 1. Walker hit the brakes and turned the car right, avoiding a major wreck.
Rip Michels of Mission Hills led all 30 laps to win the NASCAR Grand American Modifieds race.
