Residents fired heated questions at developers during the first public hearing on the 356-acre Whispering Hills project.
A proposed road that would connect two portions of the development drew protests from several residents at Thursday’s meeting. The road would be constructed within 200 feet of a ridgeline, which is prohibited by city law.
“There are thousands of residents who don’t want the ridgeline exception,” said Lon Uso, one of 180 people at the meeting.
The city is working on two alternatives, said city Planning Director Tom Tomlinson. The issue will be discussed at the Traffic and Transportation Commission meeting on June 14.
