The city has received the Certificate for Excellence in Financial Reporting award from the Government Finance Officers Assn. of the United States and Canada.

The nonprofit professional association cited the city’s long-term financial plan in making the award. The plan was featured in the association’s April 2000 Government Finance Review. The award is the top governmental accounting accolade given by the organization.
