The Sun Microsystems Par-3 Challenge, featuring top players from the three major American golf tours and a group of celebrities, is Nov. 7 at the Four Seasons Resort Aviara in Carlsbad.

Lee Trevino will defend his title against Jack Nicklaus, Fred Couples, Nancy Lopez, Dottie Pepper, Ben Crenshaw, Gary McCord, Gary Nicklaus and Grace Park. The celebrities have not yet been announced.

The Aviara course will be modified to make every hole a par-3 with every player hitting from the same set of tees. A hole-in-one on any hole is worth $1 million. Trevino defeated Couples in a two-hole playoff to win last year.
