GoBack Before You Start

Share

Got yourself a brand-spanking new computer? Resist the urge to do anything before installing GoBack 2.2. Distributed by Adaptec with a street price of about $50, GoBack lets you, well, go back to a point before your box started acting screwy.

GoBack lets you turn back the clock on your PC to a minute ago, an hour ago or even a week ago if you suddenly discover that your system’s been corrupted by a program installation, a virus, a power loss or just a stray cosmic ray. GoBack can even help you recover from a hard disk reformat.

It’s idiot-simple but very powerful--just the thing to install on the computers of your fumble-fingered relatives who are constantly screwing up their machines. If the system has 32mb of RAM and a CD drive, it will accept GoBack. The program typically uses about 10% of the available hard drive space to do its magic.
