City Home Loans for Repairs Approved
City Council members have approved a new home loan program for homes needing emergency repairs.
Owners can apply for up to $7,500 to fix a problem that poses a safety hazard.
Instead of waiting several weeks or months for emergency aid, residents can now get home repair funds almost immediately.
The loan can be paid back at 3% interest when the house is sold or refinanced, city officials said.
The council approved the loan program at its Oct. 30 meeting.
