School Building Funds
Re “Speed Beats Need in State School Funding,” Oct. 29:
The state Department of Education has, and publishes, all of the data necessary to determine who needs building funds. But why is anyone surprised that the money is going to those who don’t need the funds? In 10 years of tracking the activities of the state Department of Education, I have not seen an incident where obvious education and student needs had any impact on its decision.
California has education problems. I believe that lack of leadership and critical thinking in Sacramento is the primary cause.
