City planning commissioners voted last week to let the Irvine Community Development Co. increase the number of homes to be built on 14.1 acres southwest of Culver Drive and Portola Parkway. The Northpark project had been approved for a total of 362 homes, with 58 houses proposed for the 14-acre parcel. The developer now plans to build 67 homes there by reducing lot widths from 65 to 55 feet for an average lot size of 6,907 square feet.
