PLACENTIA
The Placentia-Yorba Linda School District will be giving away books.
As a result of state requirements, the district will do away with thousands of books that state education officials have declared obsolete.
The giveaway is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 15-17 at the district’s maintenance facility at 4999 Casa Loma, Yorba Linda.
The bulk of the material is social studies textbooks that have been used for the last seven years. The books were used by pupils from kindergarten through eighth grade.
School district officials will also hold a textbook giveaway Nov. 20-22 and Nov. 27 to Dec. 1.
