City of Angels Medical Center Gets New President

* John V. Fenton has been named president and chief executive of City of Angels Medical Center. Fenton was president and CEO of Queen of Angels-Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center.

* Phil Smith has been promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer of Stater Bros. Markets, the Colton-based operator of 155 supermarkets. Smith previously was controller and chief accounting officer.

* Mysmart.com, a Los Angeles-based e-commerce software developer, has promoted Lyle Kan to executive vice president and chief operating officer. Kan had been senior vice president, strategic planning, and is a former marketing executive at IFilm.com.

* Daylight Transport, a national transportation and logistics company, has promoted Steve Caddy to senior vice president, operations. He will work to integrate all aspects of the Long Beach-based company’s expedited freight movement. Caddy had been in charge of sales and marketing.

* Steve Beilinson has been promoted to senior vice president/credit supervisor at Sanwa Bank California, where he will also be a team leader of the bank’s commercial group credit unit for the Southern region. He will be based in Los Angeles.

* Union Bank of California has promoted Sharon Woodson-Bryant to vice president in the bank’s public relations and government affairs department. She will be based in Los Angeles.

* Los Angeles-based Manufacturers Bank has appointed Robert Brito senior vice president and manager, loan participation group. The group will develop relations with other banks to sell and buy participations in middle-market commercial loans. Brito previously was relationship manager at Community Bank in Pasadena.

Manufacturers Bank also named David Thorne vice president, commercial loans, at its branch at 9th and Los Angeles streets. He will be responsible for middle-market lending. He comes from Comerica.
