Seeing classic Warner Bros. cartoons--among the funniest short films ever made--online. Streaming video might not be the ideal manner in which to view these gems from the 1930s, ‘40s and ‘50s, but at least you get to see fully realized animation that is all too rare on cartoons made for television. Also, this site shows the cartoons at their original length (they are sometimes cut to fit time formats when shown on TV). On the site, one cartoon per day is featured--recently it was the wonderful 1950 Chuck Jones opera parody “The Rabbit of Seville,” starring Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd--but if you click on “more toons” you can also view others. On the Warner Bros. online site are previews from “The Oblongs,” an animated show soon to premiere on the WB television network. All that can be viewed are short clips, but it’s clear that we’re a long way from the classic Warner Bros. animation days in looks, style and class.
