Re “For the Loser, a Sudden Lonely Silence,” Nov. 6: Thanks for doing the research on how defeated presidential candidates handled their defeat. It is a matter of universal interest and seldom spoken about. When a loss occurs in any of our lives, how do we deal with it? You are right, America loves winners and forgets losers. That’s too bad, because all of us have lost something in our lives. Your article helps by showing actual “great” people’s ways of managing these defeats. We need more such real-life examples.
