Scott A. Shuford Is Appointed Vice President at Big Man Creative

* Scott A. Shuford has been named vice president of Big Man Creative Inc. in Laguna Hills. He will lead client relations as well as provide strategic direction for the company. Most recently he served as producer for the Music Channel on Crosswalk.com. Prior to that, Shuford was operations director for the Internet start-up Gofishnet.com Inc. and sales and marketing director for Diamante Music Group in Newport Beach.

* Leonard H. Dreyer has been elected chairman of the board of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Inc. He is chief executive of the Marie Callender’s restaurant chain.

* Raymond J. Lane has joined the board of directors of Quest Software Inc. in Irvine. He is a general partner of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a venture capital firm. Lane previously served as president and chief operating officer of Oracle Corp.

* Jon Firestone and Sanat K. Dutta have joined the board of directors of Buy.com in Aliso Viejo and John Sculley has resigned from the board. Firestone had been chief executive and president of the advertising agency BBDO’s Minneapolis office as well as serving on the board of BBDO North America. Dutta had been president of Ingram Micro from October 1997 to March 1999. Prior to that, he held executive positions with both American Express and Best Products.

* Christina Smith has joined Split, a Huntington Beach board-sport clothing company, in the newly created position of sales manager for the Split Girl Line. She was formerly sales representative for Orange and Los Angeles counties for Rusty. Ronny Nelson was named team and promotions manager for all sports. He was previously surf team manager at Globe and before that, was an assistant manager for Rusty.
