The voice of Bart Simpson has written “My Life as a 10-year-old Boy.” She’ll be at Borders in Northridge on Monday and Book Soup in West Hollywood on Tuesday.

The Family That Plays Together: I’ve got two kids--a 9-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter--so every Friday night is family night. There’s no TV and no videos; we have to do something together. Sometimes we’ll play Scrabble or Monopoly or “The Simpsons” Clue game. But the most fun is to go bowling. We usually go to Rocket Bowl in the Valley. We go early, around 6 p.m., before the leagues start, and we go to the ‘50s diner they have and eat all the things you’re not supposed to--burgers and nachos. We have to use the bumper guards or no one would break 100.

Bikes and Books: In the day, we’ll take our kids and go bike riding over to the Borders at the Northridge Mall to hang out. They have organized events for the family, and they’ll have guests come in to do readings for the kids. I’ll get a Frappuccino at their cafe and we’ll go browsing.

Official Date Night: Murphy and I have been married for 12 years, and we found this incredible French restaurant in Beverly Hills, Brasserie Des Artistes, on Wilshire Boulevard. It’s so romantic and it’s a perfect dinner-by-candlelight kind of night. Jean-Pierre is the more gorgeous chef ever to whip up a chocolate souffle.

Getting Lost for Fun: We recently discovered this monthly activity at Griffith Park run by the L.A. Orienteering Club. You take a nature walk, and while you’re walking, you get to learn survival skills like map reading and compass reading. They have different levels depending on how many times you’ve done it and how old your kids are. So the kids learn how to read maps and you get a workout.

The Obvious: Sunday nights we watch “The Simpsons.”
