British Man Held in Theft of WWII Encoder

A man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a World War II-era encoding device from a museum and demanding ransom for the rare Enigma machine, British police said Saturday.
Officers investigating the theft of the Enigma machine, used by the Nazis to encrypt top-secret messages, arrested Dennis Yates, 57, on Friday. Yates is charged with blackmail and handling stolen goods, Thames Valley police said.
The Enigma machine was stolen from the Bletchley Park Museum, about 40 miles northwest of London, on April 1.
