NEWPORT BEACH
The Newport-Mesa Unified School District is seeking applicants for its 14-member Citizens Budget Advisory Committee.
The committee was created in 1992 to get the community more involved with and educated about the school district’s budget. The two-year term includes a minimum of six meetings each year. The members also serve on subcommittees, which are formed as necessary.
Applicants must live within the boundaries of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District. Interested residents should send a letter to Supt. Robert Barbot at 2985 Bear St., Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Letters should include the applicant’s qualifications and reasons for seeking the position.
The deadline for applications is 4 p.m. Dec. 5. The school board is expected to make appointments Dec. 12. Information: Michael Fine, district assistant superintendent of business services, (714) 424-5001.
