16 Die in ‘Highway of Death’ Bus Plunge

Sixteen people died and 33 were injured when their bus plunged into a ravine off Bolivia’s infamous “Highway of Death” about 60 miles east of La Paz, the capital, police said. Bus driver Mario Botelho Saravia, who was injured in the crash, told police that the steering wheel seized up while he was driving in the Yungas region.
