The late Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Double Trouble rhythm section of drummer Chris Layton and bassist Tommy Shannon is working on an album featuring a large roster of guests. It’s due Feb. 13 from Tone-Cool Records. Among the tracks is a version of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll” with Susan Tedeschi on vocals and Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Charlie Sexton on guitar, plus Muddy Waters’ “She’s Alright” with Doyle Bramhall II singing. Others appearing on the album include Willie Nelson, Dr. John, Jonny Lang and Jimmie Vaughan. . . .

Producer E-A-Ski, who’s worked with Master P, Ice Cube, TLC and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, among many others, has signed a production deal with hip-hop label Ark 75, with the first album expected to be his debut as a performer. N.W.A’s MC Ren is among the guests on those sessions. . . .

Motels leader Martha Davis has recorded a new song, “Coco and John,” for a two-CD compilation of the ‘80s band’s hits along with such rarities as the Giorgio Moroder-produced demo of “Take My Breath Away” (which lost out to Berlin’s version for inclusion in the “Top Gun” soundtrack), “Mystery DJ” (co-written by Davis and Bernie Taupin) and a version of “Crazy,” the Willie Nelson song made famous by Patsy Cline.
