Telephone Psychics

Share

The Nov. 21 article, “Truths Unfold Before a Psychic--and Not Always From the Tarot,” about a telephone psychic who uses Tarot cards and clairvoyance was unbecoming a quality newspaper. This sympathetic puff piece about a psychic did not point out there is no credible evidence that psychic ability exists. It did not point out that people make major, real-life decisions based on dubious advice received over the phone or that people spend enormous sums of money for this type of service. Unless this particular psychic can produce evidence of accuracy though a genuine double-blind study, the psychic’s claim of clairvoyance should not be accepted on face value.
