Special-Education Policies on Docket
Trustees in the Santa Ana Unified School District tonight will consider policies governing the settlement of special-education claims.
The district is among several in the county being investigated by the Department of Education for possible violations of state requirements.
The Santa Ana investigation was spurred by complaints from parents who contend their children didn’t receive proper case management and say the district’s program lacks appropriate books and access to computers.
The department held hearings on the matter earlier this month.
The board will meet at 7 p.m. at the district headquarters, 1601 Chestnut Ave. Information: (714) 558-5555.
