How to Do a Number on Stray Carts
Residents who spot those straggling shopping carts can now call a hotline to get them retrieved.
City officials have enlisted the help of the California Shopping Cart Retrieval Corp., which was established by the California Grocers Assn. to round up those wheeled baskets that can become a nuisance and even safety hazard throughout communities.
Those who call the hotline, (800) 252-4613, to report abandoned carts should be prepared to provide the company identified on the cart, which street it’s on and the ZIP code of the area.
