Ford Passes the Buck

Share

Ford Motor Co. has the outrageous gall to once again point the finger at Firestone for putting cheap, dangerous tires on its cars--tires with unacceptably low heat standards [“Low Heat Rating Found in Tires on Ford SUVs,” Sept. 23]. Yes, Firestone has some responsibility here, but who makes the decisions to install these tires?

Ford is a company with a long record of putting profits before people (anyone remember the Pinto with the exploding gas tank?). Ford has always been willing to absorb a large number of customer deaths rather than make necessary design changes; there is nothing new here.
