Unity Festival

Re “Latino-Jewish Festival a Push for Unity,” Sept. 24.

As Joe Cerrell said, “There are always people who hold a grudge.” You bet! And I’m one of them.

In 50 years of voting, no campaign rhetoric or activity ever made me as angry or disgusted as that of Richard Alarcon during the primary battle for his state Senate seat. I am not Jewish and did not perceive his tactics at that time as being anti-Semitic, just divisive, as in “us (Latinos) versus them (every one else).”

Now we are supposed to believe he experienced an epiphany while on a trip to Israel! Give me a break. . . . A leopard can’t change its spots.
