Riverside Bethel Christian 20, Fairmont 16

Bethel Christian used a powerful running attack to defeat Fairmont at Glover Stadium.

Kenjus Watson led Bethel Christian (1-3) with 212 yards rushing in 18 carries and scored two touchdowns, including a 17-yard run in the fourth quarter that gave his team the lead for good, 20-16.

Watson also sprinted 78 yards for a touchdown on his first carry, and a two-point conversion tied the score, 8-8.

Bethel Christian’s defense also performed well, allowing Fairmont (2-1) only 164 yards. The defense made a goal-line stand with two seconds left in the first half, and forced two turnovers in the fourth quarter.

Justin Harris led Fairmont in rushing, carrying the ball 17 times for 52 yards. Harris also scored two touchdowns.
