At the Same Table With Leading Ladies

Share

Dear Cynthia: I dreamed I was at a table with Helen Hunt, Nicole Kidman and my friend Paula. We were making things, like a mosaic or a collage. Paula’s husband came up to ask for change. I was looking in my purse and Nicole Kidman gave me handfuls of dimes. I couldn’t see how she could have so many dimes, so I kidded her and made a joke about it and she got mad at me. Then we were admiring what we had made, and Helen Hunt’s was just beautiful, and we all oohed and aahed over it.

In another dream, I was Rene Russo with rich, wavy red hair (I’m a blond), a great figure (I’m about 40 pounds overweight) and lots of glam makeup (I rarely wear makeup). I spent that dream taking care of Sting. He was having a hard time dealing with fame and got drunk and was a jerk. Then I suited up to record my own music video.

Can all these dreams about famous people be telling me that I will be successful in my own right?

Dear Melissa: Although some dreamers still have mythical creatures showing up in their nocturnal dramas, many of us have substituted famous people in these archetypal roles. You must ask what these women represent to you. Helen Hunt and Nicole Kidman are both attractive, young leading ladies. Here you and your friend Paula are creating equally with them, all at the same table. They may represent fame and fortune through creativity. One is sensitive with a lot of small change. Are you over-sensitive to criticism or teasing? Do you need to make a handful of small changes?

In the next dream, a part of you fears how she will handle fame and fortune, while another part thinks it will make everything gorgeous and give you an outlet for your creativity. You absolutely can be successful, but fear is your worst enemy. Turn fear into passion by making a plan for how you will deal with the fame and fortune soon to come. Many find that a commitment to a favorite charity goes a long way toward keeping the ego in check.
