George B. Miller Elementary School’s 580 students next week will launch a yearlong reading program called Links to the World.

“It’s a reading contest to see who can read the most books during the year, and the kids will be filling out passports as they read books about people and places around the world,” said Colleen Bragalone, a spokeswoman for Centralia School District.

Awards will be given to students at each trimester. For the kids who want to improve their reading skills, students from Cypress College and Kennedy High School will be available for tutoring.
