The city has amended the ordinance regulating sexually themed businesses in response to recent federal court decisions dealing with freedom of expression under the 1st Amendment.
The new law spells out how long the city can take to investigate permit requests and sets time limits for appeals.
The changes alter how the city issues and revokes business permits for adult bookstores, movie theaters and nude dance clubs.
