* Mimes--The San Francisco Mime Troupe will present “City for Sale,” a political satire about the housing crisis across the state and its effects on ordinary people. The show will play to an original score performed live in UCSB’s Campbell Hall. Show time: tonight at 8. $14-$20. 893-3535.

* Monologues--Lobero Theatre will present “Uneasy Lies the Head,” starring Patrick Stewart, at 33 E. Perdido St., Santa Barbara. The show will benefit the Lobero Theatre Foundation and the Shakespeare School. Stewart will present an evening of monologues of leaders he has played. * Theater--The Ensemble Theater Company will stage “The Aspern Papers” at the Alhecama Theater, 914 Santa Barbara St., Santa Barbara. The show is set in Venice and concerns a publisher’s search for a poet’s letters. Based on a Henry James story. Show times: Friday-Nov. 5; Tuesday-Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday, 2 and 7 p.m. $20-$28. * Reggae--The Santa Barbara Bowl will feature an afternoon of reggae with Bunny Wailer, Burning Spear and the Meditations, Sunday at 4 p.m. Wailer was part of Bob Marley’s legendary group the Wailers and left in 1974 to pursue a solo career. * Festival--The 29th annual Old-Time Fiddler’s Convention and Festival will feature more than 100 musicians playing music that is more than 75 years old, with cash prizes for the top players. The event takes place at the 1872 Stow House, 304 N. Carneros Road, Santa Barbara. Tours will be available. Sunday, 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. 966-1191.

* Cuban Art--”Contemporary Art From Cuba: Irony and Survival on the Utopian Island” will open in four galleries at UCSB’s University Art Museum. The exhibit features work from 16 Cuban artists in various media. Tuesday, noon-8 p.m., Wednesday, noon-5 p.m. The display will continue through Dec. 10. Free. 893-2951.
