Most of the 10 candidates running in the Nov. 7 City Council election will be covering the lion’s share of their campaign costs with their own money, according to documents filed last week at City Hall.

Mike Duvall and Tom Lindsey have loaned $10,000 each to their respective campaigns, Councilman Mark Schwing loaned $8,753 to his race for reelection, and Allen Castellano pitched in $7,850 in loans to his bid for council.

John Taylor contributed $7,000 in loans to his campaign, which was boosted with $5,000 in contributions from his father, John E. Taylor. The city of Yorba Linda has no cap on campaign contributions. The remaining candidates--Greg Schmidt, James Winder, Jim Kapko, Jack Parra and Carl Boznanski--loaned their campaigns between $400 and $5,000.
